The Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation is surrounded by a variety of scenic drives and trails. Located 15 miles southwest of Tucson the reservation is convenient to Mt. Lemmon ski facilities, Saguaro National Monument, San Xavier delBac Mission, Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum and other popular destinations in the area.
Not recognized as an historic tribe until 1994, the Yaqui Indians have faced a long battle for recognition. The tribe is descended from ancient Uto-Azteca people.
The tribe operates Casino of the Sun.

Tribal Recognition Day (September 18)
Easter Ceremonial during Holy Week
The tribe is noted for cultural paintings done by children and Deer Dance statues.
